Did I ever say anything about "parental support" in my list of suggestions? Did I ever ONCE say "go ask your parents for money"? No. What I DID say was "If you can.. do chores around the house". I know that some people don't have the ability to simply ask for a higher allowance, most of these suggestions are ways to budget money, something I've been having to deal with for a while now.

I know what student fees are, dumbass. I had to pay them too.

Well there is a little thing called STUDENT FEES people have to pay. Not everyone has parental support. You made a dumb insensitive unnecessary comment, deal with it.

My wife countered with one point when I showed her this: "What if you don't like how it writes?"

$200 compared to $2,000 for a fucking Cintiq is not that bad, and most of the people that are complaining are students, which is what I was getting at, so step the fuck off asshat. Furthermore, chances are, people that want it already OWN a computer. Where'd that money come from? Grants? Student Loans? I'm sure you see what I'm getting at.
I don't have $200 that I could drop right this second, but I sure as hell know how to budget to get what I want. Save a dollar a day and put away all the change in your pocket at the end of the day in a jar, and you'll have $200 in a about 6 months. Hell- open up small commissions or something. No one says you have to have it RIGHT NOW. I'm into an expensive hobby, where people are all about saving a large lump sum, and I could give you PAGES of ideas for saving money.

Just to name a few:
Get a job, babysit, do some yardwork for the neighbors, do some extra chores (if you can), Garage sales, dog-walking/pet-sitting, run errands for senior citizens, do some tutoring, get a paper route, buy your textbooks from other students or RENT them ([link]), sell your textbooks online instead of back to the school (you'll get more money back), Arrange with your local church, restaurant, art fair, or neighborhood park for permission to set up a face-painting booth (or other small treat booth) for children on days you know there will be a large number of kids out and about, If you have long hair you can have it cut and then sell it online or to a known wig-maker, If you traditionally receive presents for graduation, birthdays, and holidays -- and your family is the sort that would not find such requests offensive -- consider asking for contributions to your tablet/inkling fund instead of regular gifts, if you're going to college and have a meal plan (i.e. you can go eat food in the cafeteria for free!) use it, don't spend the extra cash to get something "tastier". $10 here and there adds up fast.

The list goes on, but my point is, there are lots of ways you can get money and/or save. Seriously, it's not that hard. I know people who have raised over a grand off of doing small things because they wanted something bad enough. It didn't happen overnight, but it just goes to show that things CAN be saved for. Whether or not you can justify spending the money on it is another thing, but if it's going to improve the way you do your art on the computer, then it's worth it. I've seen people with less money, blow more money on things that were completely useless. This is a tool, it's convenient, and it's worth the investment.

Wow, now THAT is something!

Boy, I'm definately going to get one of these before this year ends!
I spend way to much time drawing and sketching during my math and history classes, and then, when I want to draw them in my computer I have to digitalize, sketch again, refine....
I simply loved this, thanks a LOT for sharing this mate!
